Moving the Beast

Today I took Pass to his new home at Maple Ridge Sport Horses. I picked him up at SMWC and on the third try he loaded in the trailer like a pro. What a good boy.

I arrived at Maple Ridge and unloaded him. He backed right out and went to a stall. What a good boy.

I then tacked him up and rode him, figured it wouldn't hurt to show him right away what his new life would be like. After a little bit of excitement he settled and we worked through our gaits and even jumped a few fences. One was even around 3 foot and a little scary looking. He refused at first, but then popped right over it. Amazingly there weren't any bucks or silliness after the fence. What a good boy.

Afterwards I untacked him and left him in a stall to chill for a bit. He calmed right down and took to the nice alfafa flake I threw for him. What a good boy.

About an hour later I decided it was time to turn him out into his new pasture. I was hoping he'd get a bit beat up and pushed around because it would do him good. He walked up to Erros, CC, Tessa and Darius (some of the big guys in the pasture) and I was looking for the big reaction, one of them was going to tear him up and teach him a lesson. To my shock they all sniffed and after a little bit of prancing around they settled to the grass. Dear Pass, What the heck? You would get along with everyone. Thanks for proving me wrong. I want my money back for the show I was supposed to get. But I guess you're still a good boy, you little turd. :)

Overall it was a pretty successful day.
